Yes that’s right the best facial moisturizer isn’t actually a moisturizer.

But first what is a moisturizer and what should it be doing for your skin?

If you use a moisturizer it should help your skin retain it’s hydration. Moisture, not oil. And if your skin retains it’s moisture it is healthier, less prone to skin damage, more supple and looks and feels better.

As well as protecting itself better skin that is better moisturized just looks and feels good.

And many different moisturizers help protect the skin in different ways, for example by including a sunscreen.

But unfortunately there are moisturizers on the market that contain ingredients that can be suspect to your health and even dangerous.

And there are some moisturizers that you ought to avoid, like moisturizers with mineral oil. Mineral oil is supposed to moisturize by covering the skin in a layer of oil, thereby trapping the moisture. But mineral oil can cause it’s own skin problems, and should be avoided.

And I also believe that you shouldn’t use a moisturizer with a sunscreen in it either. Yes it is vital to protect your skin from the effects of sunburn, but there are some ingredients in sunscreens that some believe can cause cancer. Now if you use your moisturizer every single day as you should you are putting on a suspect sunscreen every day when it’s unlikely that you could possibly need a sunscreen every day.

So one of the most important things that you can do when looking to find the best facial moisturizer is to look at the ingredients. There are many skin care products that can contain some extremely nasty ingredients that can actually cause skin reactions and allergies.

So if you choose the wrong facial moisturizer you can in fact do more damage than good to your skin.
