Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The series is filmed primarily at Universal Studios in Universal City, California.

CSI: Miami follows a Miami forensics team led by Horatio Caine. Against a backdrop of simmering ethnic and cultural tensions, Caine’s team probes cases similar to those of their Las Vegas counterparts.

The pilot episode was first aired in the U.S. on 5/9/2002 as an episode of CSI and seven seasons have been aired in the United States. The 7th season is currently being broadcast in England and Ireland. The series is produced in partnership with the Canadian media company Alliance Atlantis and CBS.

On May 19, 2009, CBS renewed CSI Miami for an eighth season, which premiered in the United States on September 21, 2009 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
