Are your children’s bunk beds safe from accidents?

Many parents consider utilising bunk beds for their children to alleviate a deficiency of space or via the request of the infant. The one up one down design of bunk bed even though somewhat an exciting venture for young infants could be very dangerous; around 85% of bed accidents are caused from metal bunk beds. There are various hazards families should be aware of when purchasing a bunk bed.

Although a tumble alone might seriously hurt a child, obstacles in the vicinity of the bunk bed may perhaps cause a further hazard. Objects such as blind cords are extremely dangerous; they can simply become wrapped around a kid’s neck and several deaths have arisen due to the kid’s dressing gown cord wrapping around the throat in the middle of the the fall. Such incidents are quite unusual however they do raise the question of how safe our children are in metal bunk beds. However, bunk beds are an excellent approach of construing a little responsibility onto your child and as mentioned recently they are a great space saving tool, so they mustn’t be ignored entirely.

Metal bunk beds are less dangerous now more than ever. Better equipment, improved build, and better design have all contributed towards a much less dangerous bunk bed than more than a decade before. Most bed bunk accidents are a consequence of horseplay, in fact, most accidents are from kids playing around on the beds, especially college dorm lofts and metal bunk beds. As long as protected behaviour are contained, your kid should be fine. Educate them to under no circumstances jump on the top bunk and how to use the ladder correctly.
